For Those Who Have Inquired To Us Regarding The Demise of Radio Station WFSH-AM 1340:
We Are NOT The Former WFSH-AM 'Fox 1340', and We Have No Information to Provide 

WE ARE 'THE NEW FISH RADIO'

In it's day, 'Fish Radio' was radio station WFSH-AM, and it was more than a local radio station...It was a Niceville tradition. 
And, with it's shutting down operations Monday, March 23, 2009, the WFSH-AM radio station now ceases to exist.

For purposes of clarification, and so there will no longer be confusion, here is the history:

'Fish Radio'  began in November 1958 as a small, local Niceville/Valparaiso radio station operation that primarily programmed local news and sports.
That operation ended in 2000 when that station (WFSH-AM, known as 'Fish Radio') was leased to an out-of-market group that chose to dissolve the local format.
Some years later, the radio station frequency was eventually sold to an investor, and moved to Destin. 
It has recently gone off the air, following what were various music, national news, sports and talk network format incarnations.

In its' glory, for more than 40 years, 'Fish Radio' was the Boggy Bayou's own local station,
and proudly delivered local news and sports to a receptive community.
In 2007 with a vision and a desire to make "what was old, new again" for the community,
Arty Goodman leased WFSH-AM from its ownership and revived the proud 'Fish Radio' tradition, with local programming -
and added what is now this stand-alone Internet component, renaming the venture 'The New Fish Radio', for a new century and a new Niceville.

The New Fish Radio format became a success - critically and commercially - with high school sports and local information at its core, and listeners returned. 
But contractual and programming issues with the station's ownership arose when they informed us it was their choice to end our 'New Fish Radio' imaging. 
Thus, what was the New Fish Radio's local Niceville programming ceased permanently again in the summer of 2008
when the station's ownership switched to national news-talk network programming, and effectively ended what was our agreement.

But, having established the concept of the 'New' Fish Radio', Goodman decided to carry on the new tradition 
and further commit to the Boggy and does so now - proudly - in this exclusive 21st Century online-only edition.
Thus, through this website and a renewed high tech commitment to the community,
www.TheNewFishRadio.com carries on - with even more local sports and information for and about Niceville - online!
